Dr. Areti Petrou was born and raised in Paphos, Cyprus. After excelling in the Pan-Cyprian exams, she was admitted to the School of Dentistry at the University of Athens with a scholarship and graduated in 2016 with high honors.
From 2016 onwards, she worked as a general dentist in a private dental clinic and volunteered at the Naval Hospital of Athens. Following this, she specialized in treating children and adolescents as a pediatric dentist at a private pediatric dental clinic in Athens.
In 2019, she was accepted through exams into the three-year Postgraduate Clinical Specialization Program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Athens, a program certified by the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
During her specialization, she gained clinical experience in managing cases of severe dental caries and treating children with dental anxiety and fear of dental treatments. Her thesis focused on dental caries in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
From a young age, she enjoyed working with children and explaining every step of the dental treatment to them. She takes the necessary time to help young patients become familiar with the dental environment, overcome their fears, and create positive dental experiences. Her goal is to prevent oral diseases from an early age, laying the foundation for a healthy mouth in adulthood.
