At SYMEOUdental Centre we follow specific protocols and use high quality up-to-date equipment and products in order to offer a predictable and successful endodontic treatments.

Endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) is required when the pulp of a tooth is “injured” and becomes inflamed and/or infected.

This can happen due to many reasons, including deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, faulty crowns, or a crack/chip/trauma to a tooth. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.

During root canal treatment, the infected pulp is removed, the root canals of the tooth are cleaned and appropriately shaped, and are then sealed/ filled with a root-filling material (gutta-percha). The crown of tooth can then be restored, and the tooth continues to function as any other tooth in the mouth. Restoration options depend upon the degree of tooth destruction; the tooth can be restored by an inlay, onlay, or crown. Our dentists will advice you on what the best option is for you.

  • The duration of this treatment varies between patients, and can require more than one appointment.
